Abstract
Recent theories for the structure and energy of the different types of 180° domain walls are classified and reviewed, with a particular emphasis on the possibility of approaching the rigorousness of Micromagnetic calculations. The test for self-consistency of wall models is generalized. Experimental methods for measuring the wall energy and width are discussed, and it is shown that the recent theoretical results are in reasonable agreement with experiment
