Abstract
A new class of compounds derived from cyclopropylmethyl alcohol and cyclopropanecarboxylic acid showed high and predominantly ovicidal activity against the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch. Activity was obtained against eggs in all stages of embryonic development following either direct application to eggs or deposition of eggs upon previously sprayed leaves. For some of these compounds, translaminar transport was demonstrated for lima bean and corn but not for lemon. The acute contact ovicidal activity and the longevity of foliar residues exposed to natural outdoor conditions were in the range of activity observed for current miticides in comparative tests. Keywords
