Abstract
414 sera from 4 turkey flocks were tested for hemagglutination inhibition (HI) antibodies using a turkey strain of pleuropneumonia-like organism (PPLO) as antigen. Birds suffering from sinusitis or a chronic respiratory disease possessed a high level of antibodies. Infection with PPLO, as detd. by this test, did not necessarily result in sinusitis. PPLO isolated from turkeys and chickens are apparently antigenically homogenous with respect to this HI test.
