Abstract
A standard methodology for the dissolution of a wide range of metallurgical analytical samples is described. The procedure involves peroxide fusion in a zirconium crucible, followed by dissolution of the cooled melt in an acid solution prior to inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometric analysis. The method is rapid and cost-effective. The recovery of sulphur is almost total and separate combustion analysis is unnecessary. Keywords
