The Treatment of Ureters Injured during Gynecologic Operations

Abstract
ACCIDENTAL injury of a ureter is the most frequent serious complication of gynecologic pelvic operations. This fact was brought to our attention by the occurrence of 7 ureteral injuries in 590 total hysterectomies and 1 ureteral injury in 170 supravaginal hysterectomies done during a five-year period at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
