Abstract
Lysiphlebus testaceipes (Cresson) is the most abundant parasitoid of the greenbug, Schizaphis graminum (Rondani) and helps to limit infestations (Jackson et al. 1970) but often not until damage to grain sorghum has occurred. Several authors have noted different preferences of L. testaceipes for aphid hosts on different host plants (Knight 1944, Sekhar 1960, Walker et a1. 1973). We studied the response of the parasitoid in an olfactometer to a host insect (greenbug), a non-host insect (Heliothis zea [Boddie]), an aphid host plant (sorghum), and a plant on which aphids seldom colonize (peanut cactus, Chamaecereus silvestrii [Speg.]).Keywords
