Probing finite-time disentanglement induced by a reservoir
Abstract
We propose a simple method that allows one to probe experimentally the dynamics of disentanglement of an initial two-qubit entangled state, under the action of a reservoir. We consider a class of states, easily realizable within the framework of cavity QED and trapped-ions experiments, which may lead to finite or infinite disentanglement times, and show how the concurrence can be related to a directly measurable quantity. Pairs of two-qubit states with the same initial amount of entanglement and similar decoherence behavior lead to completely distinct disentangling dynamics. Keywords
