Abstract
A flexible cylinder in a viscous fluid is used to model a dilute polymer solution, with a non-slip boundary condition between the polymer chain surface and fluid. The problem is solved using Green functions and a perturbation expansion. The model generalizes that of Kirkwood and Riseman (1948) by having thickness, and avoids the friction coefficient they use. Keywords
