Abstract
14 case histories of patients afflicted with anorexia nervosa evidenced by anorexia, amenor-rhea and emaciation are presented. The triad was first described by Gull in 1874. 2 of the 14 patients died of the disease; in the others the disease pursued a chronic course with exacerbations and remissions. The underlying personality aberrations, conflicts and abnormal relationships are analyzed. Keywords
