Abstract
When in-person contact between elderly parents and their children was analyzed separately for elderly persons with one, two, or three or more children, physical proximity to the child was the significant predictor of interaction. Support was not found for greater interaction between elderly parents and their children in rural than in urban areas. Implications of these findings for research and policy are discussed. Keywords
