Abstract
Triiodothyronine (T3) absorption was measured in 14 studies of 8 normal subjects by a double isotope method similar to that previously employed for thyroxine (T4) absorption measurement (1). Unlike T4, T3 is almost entirely absorbed from the intestine, with a mean absorption at 4 hr of 95.4%. Also, oral T3 was absorbed equally efficiently whether given with .01 or .81 g albumin. Disappearance of the orally administered T3 from serum was faster than that of intravenous T3.Keywords
