Techniques used by the National Air Sampling Network for the collection of samples of suspended particulate matter for subsequent analysis are discussed. Sampling equipment, particularly the Hi-Vol sampler and a vacuum pump sampler using membrane filters for extended sampling periods, is described and data on sampler performance are presented. Keywords
