Abstract
SUMMARY Soils and other substrates from various Utah areas were screened for Gymnoascaceae and other keratinophilic fungi. Twenty species of Gymnoascaceae and more than ten species of keratinophilic fungi were isolated. Of the Gymnoascaceae, six species are described as new and include Pseudoarachniotus trochleosporus, Arachniotus volatilis-patellus, A. verruculosus, Petalosporus afilamentosus, Gymnoascus dugwayensis and Auxarthron pseudauxarthron. Arachniotus albicans was isolated for the first time in North America. Keywords
