Abstract
All electronic medical records of the Barrow Neurologic Institute, Epilepsy Specialty Clinic (approximately 7,000 patients) were examined. We identified patients treated with folic acid or B12 and those tested for B12 levels. Clinical symptoms of B12 deficiency and hematologic variables—hemoglobin, hematocrit, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), and methylmalonic acid levels (MMA)—were extracted. Subjective symptom resolution after treatment was also reviewed. Keywords
