Abstract
Depression was identified by means of questionnaire in a group of stroke patients who had been admitted to hospital and were between one and two years after onset. A high proportion (42%) of patients were found to be depressed but there were no differences between depressed and nondepressed patients in age, sex distribution, hemisphere affected, number of previous strokes or time in hospital. Keywords
