Abstract
In 1972 East Germany started the treatment of tumor patients with fast neutrons on the base of the O2 effect; this usually means a higher radiation sensitivity of anoxic cells against radiation with high LET [linear energy transfer] in comparison to radiation of thin ionization. Every tumor contained some anoxic cells. A better effect was possible with doses that were tolerated by normal tissue. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
