Idiopathic Disseminated Focal Arteritis

Abstract
The medical histories of three men, aged 17, 36, and 44, presented an unusual form of arteritis. There were symptoms and signs of a generalized systemic disease, with cutaneous erythematous nodules and multiple pulsating tumors of large and medium-sized arteries. The cutaneous nodules on histopathologic examination resembled those of erythema nodosum, and the pulsating tumors were false aneurysms probably arising from a tear in the artery in an area of focal arteritis. The false aneurysms had developed during intervals of weeks or months. These cases represent a unique and probably rare clinical entity.
