Abstract
The maximum torque exertable and maximum length of time for which 80% of the maximum torque could be exerted on a handwheel was recorded on a strain-gauge dynamometer. Significant differences were found between positions employing attempted movement about the shoulder and the elbow joints for both criteria in favor of the shoulder joint. Keywords
