Virus-like Particles in an Entamoeba histolytica Trophozoite

Abstract
A single section of a trophozoite examined by electron microscopy demonstrated particles in 3 rows near the nucleus. The particles were 400A[degree] in diameter, spherical, exhibited a well-defined limiting membrane and a granular matrix which contained one or more electron dense bodies. The size and structure were compatible with sectioned virus particles as seen in electron micros-copy.
