Abstract
We study the SU(3) content of the Pomeron at asymptotic energies in two types of models: -channel absorptive models (generalizations of the eikonal model) and -channel models (Reggeon field theory). In the first case the Pomeron is a pure SU(3) singlet, and in the second case it has approximately the same admixture of octet as is observed at present energies.
