Monochromatic Roentgen Rays in Contrast Media Roentgenography

Abstract
The relative opacity of iodine contrast media in roentgenography may be increased by using monochromatic roentgen rays with an energy equivalent to that of the absorption peak of the contrast media material. The monochromatic radiation used was obtained by exciting the characteristic fluorescence in cerium by means of roentgen rays. Practical application of this method would result in excessive radiation dosage.
