Abstract
The authors propose a new real-space renormalisation method for calculating the density of states of disordered hierarchical lattices. The cases of a linear chain and a Bethe lattice are discussed in particular. In this treatment, spatial fluctuations in all length scales can be treated in a realistic way, with little computational effort. The results obtained are satisfactory compared with numerical simulations. Keywords
