Abstract
The work of the National Center for Teacher Education is focused on the question: What do teacher education programs contribute to the learning of teachers? This paper provides concep tual definition for key research terms, describes the data collection strategies being used by Center staff, and dis cusses the contributions and limitations of the Center's research endeavors.Keywords
