Abstract
A survey of the literature concerning the gametogenesis in Tunicates has revealed the chromosome numbers for 20 species; the data are reported in Table I, and described in detail. Furthermore, the caryograms of 5 species of Ascidians, studied in unfertilized mature eggs prepared by the acetic orcein squash method, are illustrated (Fig. 1).Keywords
