Abstract

The

{}^{64}{Ni}

(

{}^{4}{He}

,

{}^{8}{He}

)

{}^{60}{Ni}

reaction was used at 58-MeV bombarding energy with the quadrupole-dipole-dipole-dipole spectrograph, giving an improved value of the

{}^{8}{He}

mass excess of 31.611±0.017 MeV.
