Abstract
Mit der nichtinvasiven suprapubisch-transvesikalen Ultraschalluntersuchung können Prostata und Samenblasen gut dargestellt werden. Die Vermessung der Schnittbilder in der Transversal- und Longitudinalebene erlaubt mit großer Genauigkeit eine Volumenbestimmung der Prostata. Beim bioptisch gesicherten Prostatakarzinom kann die Infiltration der Organkapsel oder benachbarter Organe (Samenblasen) aufgezeigt werden. Unter oder nach Therapie eines Prostatakarzinoms sind Verlaufskontrollen beliebig oft und ohne Belastung des Patienten möglich. Prostate and seminal vesicles can be examined by the noninvasive suprapubic-transvesical ultrasonotomography. The planimetry of the transversal and longitudinal cross-sectional pictures allows exact determination of the organ volume. Carcinoma infiltration of the organ capsule or other organs (e.g. seminal-vesicles) are easily seen. During or after therapy of a carcinoma (e.g. irradiation, hormones) control studies can be done repeatedly without harassing the patient.
