Abstract
Two parameter and modified three parameter lognormal lag one Markov models are applied to twelve arid zone streams. A modified method of fragments is used to disaggregate the annual generated flows to yield monthly values. Parameters based on the generated flows are compared with historical values. It is concluded that it is possible to generate satisfactorily both annual and monthly streamflows for arid zone streams. Keywords
