Abstract
Natural Infections of Spirometra mansonoides plero-cercoids were detected in 2 amphibian, 8 reptilian, and 3 mammalian species in Louisiana. Domestic pigs were found susceptible to sparganosis expermentally. Presumptive evidence suggests that the origin of some human infections may be traced to the ingestion of the plerocercoid contained in the flesh of wild or domestic animals. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
