Abstract
Confirmatory factor analyses were performed separately for males (n = 243), for females (n = 133), and for the combined group on Self-Directed Search data collected in Pakistan. Holland's model of six types- Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional - fitted the data for the combined sample. When analyzed separately, the data for the males did fit the model, but the fit for the females was somewhat poor. Overall, the results suggest that Holland's model has validity in a non-Western culture. Keywords
