Abstract
Testosterone propionate produces a much smaller N retention in the normal female rat than the castrated male rat. Furthermore, the increase in body wt. produced in the female rat is much greater than can be accounted for by the N retained and the max. increase is obtained at a slower rate but is maintained for a longer period of time than in the castrated male rat. The ovariectomized rat responded to the androgen in a manner intermediate between the castrated male and the normal female rat. Keywords
