Abstract
The growth of large single crystals of LiNbO3 by a special technique is described. The crystals show the presence of c and a ferroelectric domains, the polar axis being the c axis with respect to the hexagonal axes. Polishing, etching and microscope techniques were used to study the domains. The polar axes of adjacent a domains, which are the result of twinning on rhombohedral faces, were found to be inclined at nearly 35° to each other, the calculated angle being 35° 39minute.Keywords
