Abstract
A nonuniform concentration model for the sulfur electrode of the Na/S battery is presented. Numerical results obtained using a hypothetical concentration distribution demonstrate that a concentration gradient in the polysulfide phase region of the phase diagram will cause a significant shift in the reaction distribution from that predicted by a uniform concentration model. The effect of concentration on the local double layer potential difference significantly enhances the operation of the sulfur electrode. Keywords
