Red-Leg in Tree-Frogs Caused by Bacterium alkaligenes

Abstract
Red-leg is usually due to Proteus hydrophilus. The present disease is due to the unrelated B. alkaligenes which was isolated from all infected animals. Those treated with 1000 U. of streptomycin recovered. It appears not to affect Rana temporaria.Keywords
