Abstract
The article discusses regional differences in types of farming by means of typifying and dividing into regions. The point of departure is the agricultural census of 1969 for Norway as split up into 208 areal units. These units are characterized by intensity as measured by gross value of production per decare and the distribution of this value in terms of a percentage, over six branches of activity. The typifying is carried out by applying Ward's method of grouping; an additional requirement when dividing into regions has been that the units of each group should abut. Maps and diagrams demonstrate the application of 5 or 12 types and of 4, 8 or 16 regions. Keywords
