Abstract
The thermodynamic and dielectric behaviours of liquid and solid cyclohexanol have been investigated with the help of differential thermal analysis and capacitance measurements up to 10 MHz. The transformation between three different solid phases and their metastability have been studied for temperatures between 160 and 370 K and pressures up to 3 kbar. The existence of the so-called ‘exothermic anomaly’ has also been confirmed under pressure. The static and complex permittivities have been determined in the kHz and MHz range for temperatures between 230 and 320 K and pressures up to 3 kbar. Activation parameters derived from the dielectric relaxation are very similar to those previously reported for cyclopentanol. Keywords
