Abstract
The tensor analysing power Ayy was measured for the 12C(d, 2He)12B reaction at Ed=70 MeV. A DWBA calculation well reproduces the experimental data for Delta l=0 transition to the 1+ ground state of 12B. For the transition to the 2- excited state via Delta l=1, the predicted curve assuming 2- is closer to the data than that assuming either 0- or 1-. The same calculation also favours 2- in analysing the previous data on the vector analysing power. These results suggest the usefulness of the simultaneous measurements of vector and tensor analysing powers. The dependence of Ayy on the final-state spin predicted by the present DWBA calculation is similar to that predicted by the PWIA theory. Keywords
