Abstract
1. To facilitate the development of appropriate population-wide coronary heart disease prevention strategies and to monitor their long-term impact, a comprehensive baseline Hong Kong Cardiovascular Risk Factor Prevalence Study was conducted in 1995-96. 2. The data obtained from 2875 men and women aged 25-74 years showed a high prevalence of diabetes mellitus and impaired glucose tolerance, particularly in those aged 65 years and over. Other risk factors, such as hypercholesterolaemia and hypertension as well as being overweight, were particularly prominent in older women. Keywords
