The Linear Polarization of Part of the Northern Sky at 49-cm Wavelength

Abstract
A survey of the linearly polarized component of galactic background radiation at 49-cm wavelength is presented for the area 23 h < α (1950.0) < 08 h , 20° < δ (1950.0) < 90°. The beamwidth of the telescope was 0°.6 arc and the sensitivity of the survey in polarized brightness temperature approximately 0.2 K. The results have been convolved to a resolution of 1°.3 for comparison with the Leiden 49-cm polarization survey, and in this form the Jodrell Bank survey is illustrated as a vector map and as contours of polarized brightness temperature.
