Abstract
Ascospores of the fungus M. ascophylli, which forms pseudothecia on A. nodosum, germinate but do not develop into mycelia. To establish whether the cultivatable, endophytic mycelium, which always occurs in the Ascophyllum thallus is identical with the pseudothecia-forming Mycosphaerella, the fluorescent antibody technique was used. The results strongly supported the assumption of identity and thus of only 1 mycobiont, M. ascophylli. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
