Abstract
Geocoris punctipes (Say) was reared in the laboratory on larvae of the beet armyworm, Spodoptera exigua (Hubner)/, with green beans, Phaseolus vulgaris, as a source of moisture. Females oviposited in balls of absorbent cotton. Eggs hatched in 10-11 days, and nymphs developed in 25-30 days. The preoviposition period was 5-6 days, and 1 generation required 40-47 days. An average of about 50% of the nymphs developed into adults, with a range of 30-70%. Cannibalism was a factor in rearing the predator. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
