Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 39-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of gas in the tissue of the forearm.Seventeen years earlier the patient sustained a gunshot wound to the left forearm, followed by repeated incision and drainage for osteomyelitis and several skin grafts and other reconstructive procedures. Four years before admission he was treated elsewhere for gas gangrene ofthe forearm, with infection that spread proximally as far as the left shoulder and an interval of coma.
