Abstract
Three triterpene alcohols isolated from the unsaponifiable lipid of the stem extract of Neolitsea sericea (Lauraceae) were identified as 24-methylene-5α-lanost-8-en-3β-ol (17.6% the total triterpene alcohol), and (24E) - (1.4%) and (24Z) -24-ethylidene-5α-lanost-8-en-3β-ol (13.2%). The last one was considered a newly found natural product. The identification of these Δ8-lanostene triterpene alcohols was confirmed by synthesis from 24-oxo-5α-lanost-8-en-3β-ol. Four other usual triterpene alcohols, i.e., β-amyrin (10.9%), lupeol (37.0%), cycloartenol (1.4%), and 24-methylenecycloartanol (13.7%) also were isolated and identified. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
