Abstract
T‐Butyloxycarbonyl‐imidazole, a potential butyloxycarbonylation reagent, is easily obtained from 1, 1′‐carbonyldiimidazole and t‐butanol. With hydrazine it forms t‐butyloxycarbonyl‐hydrazine in good yield, providing a convenient route for the synthesis of this important intermediate in the preparation of peptides. Keywords
