Abstract
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA, AND BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA-- Armed with a vast collection of strains and a refined DNA fingerprinting system, a research team in Arizona may help solve who9s behind the anthrax attacks--and nail other bioterrorists in the future. This special news package looks behind the scenes at one of the labs that is helping with the anthrax investigation; a second story looks at what doctors and researchers have learned from the new inhalational anthrax patients. Sidebars discuss efforts to sequence Bacillus anthracis, the organism that causes anthrax, and whether anthrax DNA evidence would hold up in a court of law.
