Abstract
The hydrolysis of ATP and ADP catalyzed by a potato-apyrase preparation was investigated in H2O18. Cleavage occurs between O and the terminal P of either substrate both in the presence and absence of calcium ions. The implications of these findings for the mechanisms of these reactions is discussed. Keywords
