Abstract
A diabetic patient suffered paraparesis immediately after renal transplantation. Distal spinal cord infarction was diagnosed clinically. The infarction was probably caused by interruption of blood flow through the branches of the right internal iliac artery to the spinal cord when the vessel was divided for anastomosis to the transplanted kidney. This case report emphasizes the potential importance of the blood supply to the distal spinal cord derived from branches of the aorta below its bifurcation. Keywords
