Abstract

Radio-frequency (RF) SQUIDs were evaluated with weak links in epitaxial YBa₂Cu₃O₇ films created by either local ion-implantation or step-edges in the substrate. It is shown that such weak links permit one to fabricate RF-SQUIDs with low 1/f noise. The step-edge SQUIDs show a promise of reproducible I_c control.
