Abstract
The magnetohydrodynamic lubrication flow in an externally pressurized thrust bearing is investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The ordinary magnetohydrodynamic lubrication theory for this bearing is extended to include fluid inertia effects. Very good agreement is obtained between theory and experiment.Keywords
