Abstract
A simple method for the spectral control of merocyanine photovoltaic cell (Al merocyanine film/Ag) has been developed. The spectral control was achieved by soaking in an Al dye cell in which an aqueous solution was placed ( pH 7.0) for forming a new absorption peak around 600 nm, probably due to J aggregation. Ag was evaporated on the dye film thus treated and then dried to form the counterelectrode as an ohmic contact. The merocyanine photodiode thus prepared has exhibited a power conversion efficiency about 3.3% under the 600‐nm monochromatic light illumination (0.09 mW/cm2).Keywords
