Vacuum ultraviolet laser emission from C IV

Abstract
Laser emission from C IV resonance lines at 1548.2 and 1550.8 Å has been produced in a mirrorless traveling‐wave transverse‐discharge system. The gain of the 1‐m‐long device has been measured to be 8.7 dB/m, and the peak power is estimated to be a few kilowatts.Keywords
